If you’ve never heard of beef cheeks they are the cheeks of cows and they are one tough cut of meat but become super tender if cooked the right way.

This looks delicious… but what KIND of cooking wine did/should you use? I have some Mirin that I’ve used in a few recipes but only sparingly because its 5 G net carbs per tablespoon I think!!! 1/2 a cup of that would 40 g carbs!! ahhh! Is there a better alternative?

Hi Charisse,
Mirin is a sweet Japanese cooking wine that is very high in carbs. You want to look for Chinese cooking wine, also known as Shaoxing. I hope that helps!
