Predictions for Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles and Full WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 Card (1)

    Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre.WWE

For the second time in as many years, WWE is heading to the United Kingdom for its Clash in the Castle premium live event, but this time it will be staged in Glasgow, Scotland.

The 2022 show in Cardiff, Wales was a memorable event and the company is looking for a repeat performance, especially with several Scots on the card fighting for gold.

Drew McIntyre and Piper Niven will challenge Damian Priest and Bayley for the world heavyweight and WWE women's titles, respectively, while Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn will compete in a Triple Threat match for the women's tag team belts.

We will also see Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defend their belts at the event. Let's go through each bout and make some predictions.

Belair and Cargill vs. Fyre and Dawn vs. Baszler and Stark (Women's Tag Titles)

1 of 5

The women's tag team champions will be the only ones facing multiple opponents this weekend, so in some ways, the odds should be against them.

Scottish pair Fyre and Dawn finally feel like they matter again after months of inconsistent booking, and the duo of Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark are as dangerous as it gets.

However, WWE is booking Cargill and Belair like superheroes, and rightfully so. They have become two of the biggest faces in the company in addition to being two of the most powerful women to step foot in a WWE ring.

The challengers will do everything they can to make the champions look like underdogs, but those titles aren't going anywhere.

WWE has too good a thing going with Belair and Cargill to cut their reign short.

    Prediction: Belair and Cargill retain

Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable (Intercontinental Championship)

2 of 5

On paper, Zayn should feel like an underdog going up against Chad Gable because Otis, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri will all be at ringside.

However, Master Gable has become a strict taskmaster since turning heel and has driven his students to their breaking point.

During the match, the challenger is almost certainly going to try to make Otis interfere, and if the big man is as conflicted this weekend as he has been recently, he could finally stand up to his mentor.

Seeing the former Mr. Money in the Bank finally turn on Gable and help Zayn retain the IC title is going to get one of those pops that gets the entire crowd on its feet.

While Gable deserves to hold a singles title at some point, it's not going to be this time.

    Prediction: Zayn retains

Bayley vs. Piper Niven (WWE Women's Championship)

3 of 5

Piper Niven is not only going to have Chelsea Green in her corner for her title shot against Bayley, but she is also going to have an entire arena of Scottish fans cheering her on.

Even though the former leader of Damage CTRL is a babyface and usually gets great reactions in Europe, it would be shocking to see the crowd favor her over Niven. In fact, the champ may end up being booed as if she were the most villainous heel ever.

With crowd support, her best friend by her side and an overwhelming power advantage, the Scot feels like the most likely candidate to walk out of CATC with a new piece of gold.

Bayley hasn't been champion for long, but she's had enough success to ensure that a short reign isn't going to hurt her overall character.

    Prediction: Niven wins the title

Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre (World Heavyweght Championship)

4 of 5

This could be the toughest match to predict on the entire card because you can make a good argument for why both men should win.

On one hand, Priest hasn't been a world champion for long. Ending his first reign after less than a fiscal quarter wouldn't bode well for his future as a main event player, so keeping the belt on him makes sense.

On the other hand, McIntyre is as over as he has ever been and will be challenging for the title in front of thousands of his countrymen. The pop he would get for winning would rival the loudest reactions at any show.

There's also the least-desirable option, which is McIntyre wins by disqualification due to interference from The Judgment Day, thereby protecting Priest's reign while still giving The Scottish Warrior a win.

Sadly, that is probably going to be what happens. But if we do get a title change, a lot of Scottish fans are going to lose their voice this weekend.

Prediction: McIntyre wins by DQ, Priest retains

Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles (Undisputed WWE Championship)

5 of 5

For the second major event in a row, AJ Styles will challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, but things are a bit different this time.

Following Styles' character over the past six months has felt a bit like having whiplash. First, he turned heel, then he turned babyface, and now he is back to being a heel after fooling The American Nightmare by teasing a retirement.

The Phenomenal One may or may not have The O.C. by his side this weekend, so that could play a role. His alliance with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson has been sporadic at best, so we won't know for sure if they will be present until he enters the ring at the OVO Hydro.

Even with a couple of goons as backup and a willingness to cheat, Styles isn't going to win. It's far too early into Rhodes' reign as champion for it to come to an end.

    Prediction: Rhodes retains
